Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks / brake
Japanese term or phrase: ワェード現象
ワェード is probably a typo for ウェード. But I still don't understand what this is. I guess the English is wading phenomenon? What kind of phenomenon is it?

This is a failure mode of a vehicle brake and has something to do with the brake fluid's temperature rise.

English translation:brake fade
Explanation:
I think this is actually refering to fade. Brake fade refers to a reduction in braking power. There are several causes - one of which is the boiling of brake fluid under high temperature - the air bubbles cause sponginess and a reduction in braking power (because pressure on the brake fluid compacts the bubbles instead of pressing the brake element onto the drum or disk. See the reference for a description.
