It is made from a liquid known as ethylene glycol, which has two amazing properties: it has a lower freezing point than water, and a higher boiling point than water. It does not breakdown (lose its properties), nor will it boil away. And every permanent anti-freeze starts with it as a base. Also, just about every anti-freeze has now got anti-leak ingredients, as well as anti-rust and anti-corrosion
