this is part of an ongoing litigation between automotive prt makers. the passage is : xxx三星(現地)にてタンクカシメ等の最終
 xxxを行う模様だが、xxxを現地生産し対応との情報も
 あり、激戦が予想される。
I would translate it as tank caulking.

I would tend to agree with your suggested translation Tank caulking. However depending on the context, カシメ can also mean "rivet", and since it is conceivable that a tank could be fastened in some way using rivets it would be worth checking the context.
