get ready
Explanation:
This is more natural than to prepare a document or create a document. If you want to use a noun then you can say "Getting the document ready" or "the preparation of the document" eg "I took a lot of trouble over getting the document ready" or I took a lot of trouble over the preparation of the document" - in this case the latter sounds more natural.

Preparation for~

Explanation:

disagree  Madelharri: The correct preposition is preparation of a document. Preparation for is used if you are preparing for an event etc. So you could say we prepared the document for a meeting, but the preparation of the document was delayed.

drafting/creating ドキュメント名

Explanation:
