Japanese term or phrase:

English translation:SIM (simulation)
Explanation:
I think what this sentence is trying to say is that export price needs to be adjusted against the domestc price based on the exchange rate. In order to do that they are going to run a SIM (simulation) シム.
The multiplier (係数) is 1.15 to 1.2 and this is based on the exchange rate 1Euro=Yen120

This is a note to Julian;
I agree with you on "shim" being a possibility, since it does mean adjustment 調整 (シムを入れる) and I thought about that but the thing is that I've never seen this word シム being used in trade or Forex, but this is based on my limited knowledge and experience so I could be wrong. Well, anyway the sentence is trying to say 15~20%の利益を得るために、1.15~1.2倍を乗じる which is markup, margin, adjustment....

mark-up

Explanation:
It could mean 'we plan to quote a price based on a mark-up of 1.15 to 1.2 times the current domestic price and an exchange rate of 1 Euro = approx. 120 JPY'.

I was thinking of a slightly unusual usage of "shim", which according to Wikipedia is "a thin and often tapered or wedged piece of material, used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects."

agree  CX159: Yes, I think it means markup of 15 to 20%. If the Asker is seeking the meaning this is basically the same as what I was trying to say, シム being probably SIM for simulation.

  -> Thanks. I was thinking of a shim (see note above), but simulation is a possibility.

neutral  Julian Rippon: Hi. Didn't notice your comment to me until now. I too have never heard shim used in this context. Anyway I think we all agree on what is meant. I guess we'll never know what the original writer really had in mind!
