This is a beauty diary, of how a woman takes care of her skin. She is describing how she washes her face, etc.

Anyway, my question is, what is she going to do for 20 minutes? What would be an English translation of バッティング/パッティング?

In answer to your "notes from asker", YES, it sounds odd. All of it.
But that's because I'm a GUY.
OK, seriously, because you have elipses standing in for some of the text,
I can't vouch for 100% accuracy, but with 90% confindence I will say that
she is patting her face for 20 minutes with cotton makeup pads.

Shannon Morales: Yes, there's really nothing else it could be but patting. Note they're saying 20 mins is ideal -- still strangely long, but the wording sort of allows that most people won't achieve that.
