Reference information:
I don't have anything really coming up here, but I do know that schools or other 団体 can often shorten or abbreviate their names on occasion to fit two or four characters. For example, I attended 関西外国語大学, which often shortened their name to 関西外大.

The wikipedia article is just to demonstrate the connection in the first paragraph. Obviously, you're the only one who has the information to verify this.
