Japanese to English translations [Non-PRO] Science - Education / Pedagogy | | Japanese term or phrase: オガラ | | How does this term differ from 卯の花 (tofu refuse)? It (オガラ) can be modified or reformed to be used for animal feed, etc. But so can卯の花 (tofu refuse). I'm working on a patent オガラの改質方法 (Modification of Bean-Curd Refuse, as stated in the English abstract). So is there a difference between オガラ and 卯の花? |

| | bean-curd refuse | Explanation: This term is usually referred to as おから and not オガラ and means bean-curd refuse or tofu refuse as you described. 卯の花 is the name of a typical recipe using おから and vegetables. The two terms have to do with "before or after cooking." おから as an ingredient for cooking as well as used for animal feed and 卯の花 as a recipe after cooking with おから. |
