Explanation:
This is commonly used for oil seals and their housings which are my areas of expertise. The company that I translate for most, uses "R edge" most of the time. The actual shape of what I normally see is the shape of a lower case r, but for some reason, it is always documented with an upper case R. I don't know if this fits your situation, but I hope it is helpful.
