Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / Alternator
Japanese term or phrase: キャンセル巻き
I have come across this term in a list of technologies relating to alternators. I assume that 巻き may refer to winding, and キャンセル would refer to cancellation (of noise, etc) but could not find a corresponding term in English. Any ideas / references? Thanks very much in advance.

The answer on this page is basically explaining a braided shield you would find in a co-axial cable:
http://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q101...

Or as described in English here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_cable#Signal_leakage

In the context of an alternator, it would presumably be referring to shielding the cables from the alternator so as to avoid interference on the car radio. Not sure how best to translate though I'm afraid.
