ステンレス鋼のJIS(Japan Industrial Standard:日本工業規格)記号は鋼材と鋳物の2種類があり、それぞれSUS(Steel Use Stainless)とSCS(Steel Casting Stainless)を用いています。

工事現場ではステンレススティールと呼ばずに「SUS(サス)」と呼ぶ事が多いですね。

何をどう間違って「スペート」となったのか解りませんが文脈からしてプレートでしょう。
