Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Engineering (general)
Japanese term or phrase: 情報表出・醸成系などの視点
社会情報システムを情報システムアーキテクチャ,ディジタル情報空間デザイン,情報表出・醸成系などの視点から人間の知的活動とのかかわりを課題として解題する。

醸成系 as used in the above context. Quite confused. Any help would be appreciated.

English translation:points of view including presentation and development of information
Explanation:
"情報表出・醸成系などの視点" should be segmented as "情報(表出・醸成)系/など/の/視点" because "," is stronger punctuation than "・". So the author refers to two , "情報表出系"and "情報醸成系".
"系" generally means system(神経系), style(アキバ系), corollary('系' alone) or origin(アジア系). In this context, 'system' seems to be appropriate.

But "development system" equals "way of developing", or "development" itself. You should choose the most concise phrase. Similarly, "(情報)表出系" = "(infomation) presentation system" = "presentation (of information)".

The whole sentence would be as follows:
We discuss (...) system from points of view including (...) architecture and (...) design as well as presentation and development of information

development system

Explanation:
醸成系 - 醸成 does indeed translate as "brew, foment (NOT ferment; totally different words, easy to look up) or breed", but it is more in the sense of fostering internal progression, as a mentoring system (for human talent) or an implementation plan or strategy (for perhaps IT systems). I have suggested 'development system' because it seems to almost fit the context of the sentence, but from the overall context of the entire project, you can probably come up with something better.

So I would translate this part of the sentence as "from the point of view of information presentation/development system, etc."

If you decide you like the other definition better, please do not use "ferment", but "foment"

disagree  Edgyeiji: With due respect, foment is to create trouble, voilance or make it worse. TOTALLY different word and easy to look up as well.

brews, ferments, causes, brings about

Explanation:
醸成系 here is another expression for 表現表出 as indicated by the [・] in between the 2 phrases. While [表現表出] can be translated as [means of expression], I would go with [points of view that ferments/brings about] for [醸成系などの視点].
Just go with either but preferably not both as the Japanese sentence structure and the whole linguistic point is different to that of English's.

醸成 IS brew; FERMENT. The “系”here is close in meaning to “~的”which is of course another term for [~のような、~の方面での]
簡単に、別の言い方にすると、
失業が社会不安を醸成する → Unemployment ferments social unrest.

disagree  Greg Hayes: Definitely not "ferment", and this definition does not take into consideration the meaning of '系'

agree  Greg Hayes: I agree that the author refers to two, or, with the use of など, potentially others as well.
