最近人気の職種で、コーヒー店のカウンターでエスプレッソその他コーヒー豆、煎り豆をブレンドして客に供するひとのことだそうです。
私はスターバックなどによく行きますが、ただ drink server くらいしか考えていませんでした。これはそもそも英語でなんというのでしょうか？私は bar tender を応用してcoffee tender などといってみたいのですが、定番はありますか？

バリスタ（barista）とはイタリア語で「バール（bar）でサービスをする人（〜ista）」という意味です。ちなみに、バーテンダー（bartender）とは英語で「バー（bar）でサービスをする人（tender）」という意味です。語源が同じなのに、「バリスタ＝エスプレッソをいれる人」「バーテンダー＝カクテルを作る人」という意味で用いられているのは、国によって店舗の実態が違うからです。
