Japanese term or phrase: まとめる
I am really struggling with this one. How would you translate this?
For example, "よって、グループリーダーは、2人のチームリーダーと12人の作業者をとりまとめていることになる。"
"チームをまとめる"
or
"チームリーダーは各ゾーンをまとめており"

I am really tempted to use "in charge of", but I am not sure if that's over-translating.
Do you think anyone can help me?

Thank you.

supervise / manage

Explanation:
Supervise or manage may be fine for the term まとめる, if it is a team leader who does "まとめる." I think "in charge of" is also good.

organize/put together

Explanation:
Starting from a simplified version of the sentence:「グループリーダーは2人のチームリーダーと12人の作業者をとりまとめる。」

「とりまとめる」means literally "to put together".

Using it in a translation of the sentence, it would turn out like this: "The group leader puts together (a team of) two team leaders and twelve workers." Alternately, "The group leader organizes a team consisting of two team leaders and twelve workers."

Equivalently,
「チームをまとめる」=Organize a team

However in the this case:
「チームリーダーは各ゾーンをまとめており」="The team leaders manage each zone and..."

Depending on the flow of the sentence, you could use "organize", "manage", "coordinate", but keep in mind the nuance of the word is indicates a preliminary stage. Before any "managing" or "coordinating" takes place, something must exist to be "managed" or "coordinated" in the first place.

Finally, concerning the sentence:
「よって、グループリーダーは、2人のチームリーダーと12人の作業者をとりまとめていることになる。」

「とりまとめていることになる」refers to a conditional state of existence

The sentence can be translated: "In this case, the group leader will have put together a team of two team leaders and twelve workers" or "In this case, the group leader will be putting together a team of two team leaders and twelve workers"

You will have to adjust the past/present-conditional with the context.
