Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Human Resources
Japanese term or phrase: 就業不能保障保険
Covers employees when they are absent due to sickness. Not quite "disability insurance" - more like "incapacity to work insurance" but can't find the right term in English! Any insurance people out there that can help? Thanks!

Unemployment insurance

Explanation:
I have also heard the broader expression "loss of income insurance," which includes business owners who lose their income due to disability etc. In this situation though, I would call it "unemployment insurance" as the Japanese is quite specific as 就業 refers to an employment situation.

Asker: Thanks Deborah! Technically, however, they are still employed by the company during their period of absence (due to sickness), etc. Just wondering if this might not be misconstrued. Shall ponder your answer a bit more, but for now, thanks for such a fast response!

Asker: Thanks so much for your suggestion. This does match with what they are describing, although I think the focus is on securing wages during periods (over 90 days) of incapacitation. Nevertheless, shall say that this was an alternative term. どうもありがとうございました。
