Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - IT (Information Technology)
Japanese term or phrase: クラスタ加入時
The sentence, used as a description for a variable, is as follows.
クラスタ加入時に受信するスタートアップフレームを許容するための最大誤差。
My draft translation is when the node joins a cluster for クラスタ加入時.
Are there any translations that can omit "the node" in such a case?
TIA

English translation:The maximum allowable error for received startup frames when joining a cluster.
Explanation:
One candidate sentence:
クラスタ加入時に受信するスタートアップフレームを許容するための最大誤差。
"The maximum allowable error for received startup frames when joining a cluster. "

(Flip around the sentence structure to avoid requiring an object of the action of cluster joining.)

I saw your question. As a native english speaker I don't really worry about it - in this case "...when joining a cluster" does not require a subject. The original Japanese is not an entire sentence, and likewise my English translation is not a complete sentence as well.

I can't think of other examples off the top of my head (I'm sitting in an Singapore Changi Airport and it is not easy to concentrate....)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Many thanks for your help. As a non-native English speaker, when I use the "When ...ing" clause, I am always obsessed with whether the action of "ing" refers to the same subject with that of the other action in the sentence. With your endorsement, I am feel assured with using "When ...ing" in this sentence. It will be more helpful if you can give further explanations.

Asker: Many thanks!
