Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s)
Japanese term or phrase: 余後効
Hi everyone,

I have come across this term as the title of a section in a contract. It seems to refer to parts of the agreement, such as the confidentiality clause, which will remain in effect after the period of the agreement expires. See the link below:

www.kumiaitaisaku.com/union/kyouyaku05.html

I have done a few Google searches but I have not been able to find the English equivalent (I have only found one link translating 余後効 as "post-effect", but it does not seem very convincing to me...).

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

continuing effect

Explanation:
According to wiki, 余後効 traces its origin to a German concept (Nachwirkung) which in turn can be translated as "continuing effect".

If you google this term, some have translated it as "after effect", "continued validity", or "continuing influence".

after-effect(s)

Explanation:
As beardmonk mentions it, 余後効 comes from 'Nachwirkung'.
http://www.jil.go.jp/institute/zassi/backnumber/2006/10/pdf/...
http://en.bab.la/dictionary/german-english/nachwirkung

Usually aftereffect is used in the sense of after effect of disease or sequelae though, it is also used in legal field. And Probably it is the suitable term as a counterpart of 余後効.
