意味的にはStraightforwardで難しくないのですが、このような表現の規定や法律を英語にする場合、一番ふさわしい言い方や最もよく使われる言い方があれば教えてください。
特に、「定めるものである」という表現や「基本的事項」の「事項」にこの場合どの英語を使ったらいいのか迷っています。

agree  SHINGETSU: I think this is the most appropriate translation, but I just note a variation for the beginning of the sentence. This policy is to certify the basic items in regard to ensuring the appropriate handling of personal information.

  -> Thank you, Shingetsu-san. Because it is a sentence from some kind of business contract, I thought "shall" should be used, but I suppose your translation is also appropriate.
