Marketing - Marketing / Market Research
Japanese term or phrase: 情報収集型のコアな客層
This is from the introduction to a new apparel store. I'm guessing it means customers who research about different brands and purposefully visit the store, as opposed to customers who just drop in because they happened to be passing by. Is there any special term for it in English?

informed customers

Explanation:
This makes sense, and seems to be a "technical" marketing term... Might work for you?

neutral  nakcl: Well, the original seems to say the 'active' aspect of these customers. The term 'informed' is heard rather passive to me, like 'enlightened'. How about 'self-informed' instead?
