Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Science - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Japanese term or phrase: 生地管
Does anyone know whether this term has any special significance beyond simply referring to a glass tube?

Here is a reference mentioning this term that gives some context (under the heading Ampoule).

Notes to answerer
Asker: I suspect that "glass cloth tube" may be a literal translation that has been used by error on the websites that you included. I say this simply because the product in question is a syringe barrel, which would usually be made out of glass. On this bilingual site, I find it simply translated as "Glass tubing": http://www.naigaiglass.jp/history.html http://www.naigaiglass.jp/eng/history.html

Asker: In this case, yes, it seems to be a very general way of saying tubing material.

Asker: I very much agree with you. For that matter, a search engine query generally produces ガラス生地管 as part of the given context for 生地管. However, I think that I am going to go with the Naigai term in this case, only because it is relevant to the product in question.
