Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Bearing, pulley, belt maintenance
Japanese term or phrase: マッチドセット
This one has me completely stumped. I've tried various combinations, i.e., matched set, marched set, march dosette, match dosette but still no luck.

Anyhow, here is most of the source text:
Vベルトの多本掛けの場合は、サイズマークの他に、仕上がり寸法の許容誤差範囲にあることを確認する。(マッチドセットの確認)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

English translation:matched set
Explanation:
Well, if you google マッチドセット, you will find

http://www.nitta.co.jp/product/belt/faq.html

At Q4/A4 on this page explains what it technically means. When a machine needs multiple belts, for precise and reliable operation, you need to get 'matching' guaranteed belts (usually made at same time, in a same lot etc - even with same product id or numbers...)

Then you can google "matched set" (exact phrase) and belts, then you will find many pages using the term 'matched set' in basically same meaning, technically.

So we can probably safely assume 'matched set' exists as a common technical term in English.

Matching Set

Explanation:
I think your first gut instinct is usually right. Even though it doesn't say so specifically, I think they mean there's a pair (or multiple) of V Belts, and they want you to check that they're a matching set = the same length, et cetera.
