Japanese to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Health Care | | Japanese term or phrase: 保険医療機関 | | From an official document regarding hospital discharge. I know that this is "health care facility/institution", but what I am looking for is whether it is necessary to use insurance as part of the translation and what said translation might look like. Thanks in advance. |
| | | Insurance-participating Medical Facility | Explanation: I think that the "insurance" part needs to be included in the translation somehow to differentiate between the medical facilities that accept insurance and those that do not.

5 hrs confidence: peer agreement (net): +1 health insurance system (medical) institution
Explanation: It should be important to convey the notion of insurance because 保険医療機関 is a legally defined term for those medical institutions where you can receive medical services eligible for national health insurance claims.
Since this one probably lacks any official English translation, I suggest "health insurance system (medical) institution" following "NHS institution" which is the standard expression for similar medical institutions in the UK.

Oh, NHS stands for national health service--if it is not obvious.
