What is the meaning of 成因 in the following context and what is the difference between 成因 and 原因 (both these words come together in the last sentence)

このような事態を選けるため,筆者は平成8年に厚生省の班会議において「劇症肝炎の早期診断と早期治療」と題する報告を行った。この報告ではPT<40%となった急性肝炎例(HBVキャリアの急性発症例を含む)のうち自然回複した例と劇症化例の諸臨床データを多変量解析により検討した結果,コリンエステラーゼ(ChE), ALT,総ビリルピンの各値と成因(持続性の有無)の4 項目が劇症化に寄与することが明らかとなり,判別式としてPT<40%で,かつλ=-0.89十l.74X(成因)十0,056 X T.Bil値(mg/dl)-0.014X ChE値(U/l)でλが>0以上の時に劇症化を子知する。この場合成因, 原因が持続するか否かで1点または2点を挿入する。
