Explanation:
Since it lacks in the context, I am only guessing... Could it be a typo of 参戦? Does it make sense if the phrase was to say "Mr. 糸井's joining into the corporate war" or something in that line?

I thought about the possibility of the Upper House election as Soonthon suggests, but it is usually appreviated as 参院選. 参選 is very unusual for that, I think.
