fake nose Explanation: Tsukehana literally means a fake nose, I assume. Someone puts on (tsukeru) a fake nose(hana), so you can see the figure with the "tsukehana." It's definitely not referring to a nose tone or any pther similar gesture. |

tsukebana Explanation: Bana, not hana. Daijirin expands upon the Golden Goddess' "artificial nose" to add that it's for masquerade purposes (not prosthetic) and is usually made of papier mache and the like. The question is: Why does this man wear a false nose? Because Japanese noses are flat or because he's stuck up? As usual: CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING |
