Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature
Japanese term or phrase: 猫がじゃれあうようにして
In this line, speaking about two characters:
ベッドにもぐりこむことを想像しながら、猫がじゃれあうようにして、部屋に入った.

I know that 猫がじゃれあう is referring to two cats playing together, but since there's obviously no literal cats in this sentence, I'm a bit confused as to what this means.

English translation:like two cats frolicking/flirting (with each other)
Explanation:
じゃれる is also defined as "frolic" or "flirt with" (Nelson's Japanese Character Dictionary).

"Frolic" or "flirt with" come to mind because the sentence begins with "ベッドにもぐりこむことを想像しながら."
