If I consider it necessary to see this from a different standpoint, I think my interpretation may not be very far from its connotation, according to the following definitions:

［一］（副詞）　①　（時間を問う語）　いつ～か。
　 ②　（その事が起こる時間を、分からないままに言う語）　いつか。いつだったか。いつぞや。
　③　（いつのことか分からないような物事の起こり方を表す）
　(a) 気づかないうちに、物事が生起・進行してしまうさま。いつの間にか。知らぬ間に。
(b) 物事が極めて早く生起・進行してしまうさま。いち早く。早くも。さっそく。
④　（下に願望などの表現を伴って、その事の早い実現を望む気持ちを表す）　早く（～したい）。［と実現を望む用法は古語だけのもの］

◇　追記：　　There is another important thing about “に” I failed to mention. In this context, I think “に” serves as “conjunction particle”, but not “particle”. The definitions of this particle vary with situations as mentioned below. On the other hand, this “いつしかに” can also be interpreted as a figurative expression of “いつの間にかに、あっという間に”.
