Japanese to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / literature
Japanese term or phrase:春の足音(はるのあしおと)
Hello! colleagues!
I would like to use this KudoZ personally.
I would like to know ’春の足音’ in English.
Tomorrow I am going to my previous workplace where many patients and their family will get together.
And I must make a brief speech and I would like to utilize this topic. Also I myself want to savor this phrase.
It is described lyrically, so it may be translated variably.
Please provide me with many good ideas.
Explanation: If you mean the time of the year when spring is not here yet, but you can already feel those subtle changes in the weather and in the air that let you feel like winter is going to an end, although it's still quite cold. Something like this?

Hi! Yumico-san,Joyce-san! I appreciate your message!(Sorry,I should have noticed it earlier). Thank you very much! Thanks to your help,I could spend a wonderful party time with them. Hi! Joyce, that's pretty much it.
It is lovely, wonderful, fun, creative, thoughtful and meaningful ....community. This time, the childrens, their parents and the staffs could enjoy imagining various aspects of ’春’. With no doubt, all phrases bolster our spirits. Also I myself could re-recognize how valuable a word is. I learned it from your kindness. I feel certain-a translator translates peoples'dreams into REALITY. So ProZ DAISUKI! Much appreciated again. Mami
I think this was a lovely, wonderful, fun, creative, thoughtful and meaningful community exercise for all of us. (Gosh, I'm running out of adjectives!) And, it's amazing to see how many of us participated! It was nice for Mami to let us in on it. Cheers to Mami! :-)
I learned that she is doing this in the hope of encouraging the school age children admitted in the hospital where she used to work, to give more vocabulary, to expand their imagination. The hospital staff also can benefit from this experience, too. Good on you, Mami san!
Thank you for your helping me. Now I am prepareing for my speech. I will do my best to send these all phrases to their hearts. Thank you very much again.
Hi! Katalin, sorry for my poor explanation. I have been terribly busy with my preparation. I will speak both Japanese and English. And the participants will listen to my English and Japanese explanation because they are not familiar with English terms.
So I must explain many of words word for word. I intend to show the meaning of each words. Moreover several staffs speak English and will help the patients understandings. I asked them to support me so that they can enjoy these words play.
Hi! Katalin, thank you for your comment. As I said previously, I would like the participants to enjoy many’春の足音 through many English phrases. by translating '春の足音', it can be expressed many-facetedly. It is just the point. I would like not only the participants but us to enjoy this phrase. The participants will select the most impressed one. As you know, words have wonderful power. If you touch many espressivo words, you can be spiritually rich.
Niranjanさん、ありがとうございます。 元気が近づいてくる感じが伝わってきます。 これは私も上手く説明しないといけませんね。 ありがたいです。 恐縮です。

みなさん、本当に素敵なフレーズをありがとうございます。 ここでのベストアンサーは参加者が決めますので、agree, disagreeではなく、フレーズを作ってくださればありがたいです。 * Best answer will be decided by the participants. Thank you in advance. Hi! Shannon, why don't you make up your work?
Thanks,Yumico-san and Soonthon-san. I will read these phrases with the authors comments. I will proceed my speech adding participants' and doctor's episodes
Some of them will feel their lives savoring both English and Japanese phrases. If you post your impressive words, I appreciate it. Well you can compare spring to something(lives, recovery.etc)
Comparing 2 languages can make them ponder deeply about the meaning.
Anyway, sorry for my private usage. However I just would like to enjoy the weight of words with you and them!
The purpose is that I would like them(and myself) to enjoy seasonal change, weight of words and their own feelings reading them. Of course,I will need a lot of effort to explain. Much appreciated :-) Thanks,PT translation.Thanks,MariyaN.Thanks,Niranjan,I appreciate it.
The why I selected this phrase is just that a staff leader(a physician) really likes it. Maybe he can imagine his patients recovery and improvements.
I will show all translations to them explaining them word for word. Also I will add your comments.
Hi! Katalin. I just need the single phrase of 春の足音. I will attend some party which is held regularly (about 30 people) at my previous workplace. This time, we will savor and enjoy this phrase with some people thinking about season, lives with them. You don't need to translate it literally. Rather I hope you translate it freely as you like. I appreciate your help.
Are you asking about the English version of the song 春の足音 by 岡本敦郎? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkWVG7JGY8I
Or do you just need the single phrase of 春の足音?
That would be "Footsteps of Spring" - would not that be a good fit?
If you want alternative ideas, then perhaps more context would help, for example, what the speech is about, who the audience is, would this be the title, or how do you plan using it?
