came across this term in a short story about the city of kouchi in the late seventies. is it an actual place name? i haven't been able to find any information about it about the net.

追手門 (Ou-te-mon) is the common name given to one of the gates (usually the main gate) built on defensive walls surrounding Japanese castles. Sure enough, there is a 追手門 at Kochi Castle.
