I just want to confirm the grammatical aspect of this sentence... the two "Ga" here has confused me! can anyone clarify, what is connected to what here??
I have translated as:
The driver controls the polling (process) that checks whether the media is attached or not.
have i got it correct??

The driver controls the polling process that checks whether a media is loaded.
Explanation:
The driver controls the polling process that checks whether a media is loaded.

I think your answer is quite good, and that you get the point in this sentence. The subject of the main clause is "ドライバが", and its verb is "... を抑制する". So, the object is automatically "メディアが装着されたかポーリングする処理". Not to mention, "polling" is the gerundive form of a verb "poll", and I was almost inclined to try to use "polls whether", but it seems that the verb "poll" cannot take a whether-clause. So, for "... されたか", I would agree with you that a verb like "check" is used. Here, "装着する" is "load", not "attach", and "the media" should be "a media", since we cannot specify a specific media here. In addition, "or not" will not be needed here, since it is not found in the original sentence, and "whether a media is loaded" will be sufficient.
