Si tratta di un tipo di gabinetto, credo corrisponda al 簡易水洗便器 che si trova su Wikipedia e viene descritto come un tipo di toilette usata in posti privi di fognature. Nel caso della mia traduzione, è il gabinetto di un cacciabombardiere della II guerra mondiale.

Asker: Anch'io avevo puntato alla soluzione wc/gabinetto chimico, ma rimane il dubbio se quel sistema esistesse all'epoca. Purtroppo non posso fornire ulteriore contesto, perchè si tratta di una semplice definizione in uno schema illustrato, non è inserita in una frase. L'illustrazione non aiuta, è piccola e approssimativa e più che un WC sembra un bidoncino della spazzatura cilindrico >_<

agree  Reiko Arakawa: Anche se non so se veniva utilizzata qualche sostanza chimica, in questo contesto va meglio che "WC con fossetta". Se no, visto che in inglese chiamano "portable toilet", si potrebbe chiamare "gabinetto portabile".
