Slang
Khmer (Central) term or phrase: ciao mon amie
It appears as a closing to a letter.
Maxine
English translation:goodbye my friend
Explanation:
whereby "ciao" is really Italien and "mon amie" is really French (and here, a girl friend is being addressed) - and there is nothing Khmer about it (although of course "mon amie" is a remnant from the colonial times when "Cambodge" was ruled by France).
