Latin to English translations [PRO]
Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Latin term or phrase: commentationem doctam exhibuit atque examina severa in artium liberalium discip.
the last word should be disciplinis. Obviously I am translating my University diploma (is Charles university really the only university issuing the diplomas in latin ??) and I really do not know exactly how to translate it.
I know its something like: "he underwent and passed strict examinations and showed discretion in the field of ...... disciplines "
But I know this translation sucks (I have never studied Latin). So if you provide me with some preferable translation I would appreciate that.

English translation:He presented a doctoral dissertation and passed the doctoral examinations.
Explanation:
Dear kajik,

I think the tranlsation is as follows:

He presented a doctoral dissertation and passed the doctoral examinations.

The word subiit, though it's in the next line in your certificate, belongs to this sentence. The certificate's literal translation is: gave in an erudite paper and submitted himself to hard examinations.

Yeah thanks, only you did not mention artium liberalium - which would probably be liberal arts.
