Latin term or phrase: In altero majori pago
According to the chapter records, on 6 October 1671 the possibility was evaluated of appointing a permanent parish priest in a second village on the isle of Texel 'in altero majori pago'.

Explanation:
'Alter' means 'another, the other (of two)', whereas 'alius' means 'another, other' (in reference to more than two). Cf. the phrase 'alter ego' = 'a second self'.

Typos, particularly in Greek and Latin, run a dime a dozen. And though 'majori' is here patently a typo, experienced editors of classical texts will readily recognise it as such.
