Latin to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Linguistics | | Latin term or phrase: Pro domino Satana, animum tuum delacerabo | I would like to know the exact and proper way to state, "On behalf of our Master Satan, I shall tear your soul (spirit) to shreds!"
I think I'm close, but it still doesn't feel complete. Other sites I've searched across the internet don't have the "I shall" in the translation. Am I missing something?
I've also received both "tuum" and "tuam." Which is correct?
In context, I am speaking to a wide audience. Is there a way to speak to a collective group while not using a plural form of "souls?" I want it to sound as if I am speaking to each one on a personal level, yet speaking to many at once. If not, the direct, singular translation will do.
Also, how about "On behalf of our Lord Satan, I shall destroy you?" ("You" in the collective, as if speaking to a large group.)

| | | In the name of Lord Satan, I will tear your soul away... | Explanation: Delacerabo > Future tense, 1st person. So, you are right
Soul = Anima, feminine so "tuam" is right, or "Animus, i Masculine, so..
For speaking to a group, even though "tuam" makes it singular, I would suggest: ..."I will tear all the souls away" (or to shreds, as you suggested! |
