Latin to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Religion / presider over Baptism
Latin term or phrase: cooperator
I am translating a Polish Baptismal certificate from the 1800's. At the end it states "baptisavit J. Drezewicki cooperator loci." As it is handwritten, the initial "c" might actually be something else, and the "t" might be a "d."

Any ideas? My understanding is that this person performed the Baptism.

cooperator loci
parish assistant

Explanation:
"co-operator" can mean assistant in Ecclesiastic jargon and "locus"-1 place, spot but also district, region ( or in this context, parish ).

Cave canem! (my favourite Latin expression!)

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  Joseph J. Brazauskas: Since 'cooperari' means to 'work together, collaborate', its cognate substantive would certainly make sense in this context.
