Latin to Italian translations [PRO]

Latin term or phrase: sed, quod ipse tamquam rem inimicissimum detestatur, libera
Sto traducendo un testo (italiano>inglese) che cita Coluccio Salutati con riferimento a Firenze:
"popularis civitas, soli dedita mercature sed, quod ipse tamquam rem inimicissimum detestatur, libera"

Ho trovato che la prima parte significa "città populare dedicata solamente al commercio", ma non trovo nulla da "sed" in poi.
Ho postato la domanda anche in latino-inglese con la speranza che qualcuno mi possa aiutare!
