|Lithuanian term or phrase: kauna redibos svedasu parapiuos|
|Found this on our great grandparents grave....they are from Lithuania|
Kaunas ... (most probably district), Svėdasai parish
The second word must be different... cannot think of anything appropriate.
Anyway, the meaning is clear. It is the place your great grandparents come: Svėdasai parish, Kaunas district.
As Lithuanian was under the Russian Empire at that time, the administrative division was different.
Svedasai, Ukmerge uezd, Kaunas gubernia, Latitude: 55ŗ41' Longitude: 25ŗ22', now in Lithuania
Also known as Shvodestz
Svedasai Ukmerge Uyezd was formerly known as Vilkomir Uyezd.
Total hits for Svedasai on google.com: 32
Kaunas (the second largest city in Lithuania, in Central Lithuania)over 98,000 hits on google.com
Hope it helps
