I'm translating a few paragraphs (35 and 36) of the Criminal Procedure Code (ЭБШХ) [I would looove it if there was a ready translation of this law, outdated or not, that I could use as reference, help anyone?], and I wonder how this expression is best translated in this particular context: make statement, testify or give deposition or otherwise?
