Mongolian term or phrase: Засгийн газрын ордоноос баруун хойш
Greetings,

I think one of the problems is that I never know whether баруун means “right” or “west”.

Ah! I've just realised that Засгийн газрын ордоноос is probably “Government Palace”. Trouble is, I wasn’t aware of such a building in Ulaan Baatar. Could it possibly be another name for “Төрийн Орд” i.e. the State Palace?

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

PS I understand that засгийн газар means “government”, and that газар = place, but what does засг mean on its own, please?

Explanation:
"Төрийн ордон" (not "Төрийн орд") and "Засгийн газрын ордон" refer the same building which is located behind the Sukhbaatar Square, the main square of Ulaanbaatar.

"засаг" means "rule" on its own and "газар" means "office/department", so "засгийн газар" is literally "ruling office".
