Explanation:
Not an official balance sheet done at the end of the accounting period, but a just a way of checking that debits equal credits at any period in the interim.

I went for this but asked the client if this was correct. Have not heard back from them. From what I can see, "kontrollbalanse" is an not a standard term in accounting anyway. Will report back if any feedback received post grading.

neutral  Sander Wiener: Isn't that a råbalanse?

-> Thank you. I am not familiar with that term. Perhaps there are two terms for the same thing.

neutral  Chris S: I think it needs a bit more explanation /// Paul I would probably have gone for trial balance myself, and it may still be best in context, but this is clearly a special kind of trial balance so it might be best to add a little more information

-> Thank you. I think simply that "kontrollbalanse" is best translated by "trial balance". It is a way of making sure that everything is adding up correctly and of catching errors early. I suggest those interested google "trial balance" and see if I am right

cash value test balance

Explanation:

agree  Chris S: Yes, but explanation could be reflected in the term better. Perhaps "cash value trial balance" or "trial balance to ascertain the company's cash value"?
20 hrs
-> Yes, there is definitely room for enhancement of the term as such. I like "cash value trial balance", unless someone comes up with an English term that *is actually in use* for this phenomenon.

neutral  Paul Lambert: Are you suggesting that "trial balance" is not in use?
21 hrs
-> No, in no way. But that is equal to 'råbalanse', and does not cover the meaning of a 'kontrollbalanse' as defined above.
