Norwegian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / blasting work
Norwegian term or phrase: fjellbånd
Not sure that this is - in a heading that says 'arbeidssikring med fjellbånd og nett'.
Next: prosessen omfatter levering og montering av fjellbånd og nett i på forhånd innsatte bolter.
Advice appreciated!

fall protection harness

Explanation:
http://www.dir.qld.gov.au/workplace/business/construction/ma...

I assume they are talking about working at heights, in which fall protection is required.

A personal fall arrest system, comprises of ladder belt, harnesses attached by lanyards. I'm assuming the bånd part refers to the harness, which is the main part.

"Work protection with a fall protection harness and net"

with fjellbånd one could also say "safety harness"

arbeidssikring could also be "work safety" or the like.

Following up the response (to right my wrong I guess) I found this after looking up fjellbånd on google:

http://129.241.88.86/tunnelno/_upl/chapter9.pdf

That is "fjellbånd" is most likely "straps" or "rock straps"

See the introduction here for an explanation of all the different types of rock/mountain/tunnel/mine support that can be used:

For the first reference see under fig 4 page 75 and the conclusion for the best explanation.

disagree  Øyvind Strøm: No, it's not correct. "Fjellbånd" is used for reinforcing concrete, and possibly alone. I've spent several hours trying to find the exact English meaning, but havn't succeceded yet.

a type of adhesive

Explanation:
I'm fairly sure that this is some kind of adhesive that can be used to stabilise the rock face and can either be used on its own or mixed with shotcrete.

This answer with adhesive no longer stands - but I think Helen has found something with the split sets. I found this link: http://www.agapito.com/hard_rock_abstracts.htm which mentions them in connection with concrete. After having hidden this answer I also looked at "rock anchor" as possibility, but I still can't come up with a definitive answer...

Example sentence(s):
