Norwegian term or phrase: hovedfagseksamen vs. fageksamen
What is the difference here:

Idrettskandidat-graden blir tildelt på grunnlag av cand. mag-graden eller tilsvarende utdanning og hovedfagseksamen i idrett, avlagt ved Norges idrettshøgskole.

Studenter som har tatt en fageksamen, kan få bevitnelse på dette.

disagree  Michele Fauble: A 'major' in the US is an undergraduate major area of studies. 'Hovedfag' in Norway follows the Cand. mag degree (earned after four years of study).
