machine carpenters
Explanation: Nynorsk it ain't; that would be maskinsnikkarar. So what is a maskinsnekker? Any snekker is a carpenter, also called tømmermann (timberman) here. Compound words do not always have clear meanings - is barneraner (child robber) a child that robs someone, or someone who robs children of valuables? Dørselger - selling doors, or door-to-door?
In this case, I can't see carpenters building or fixing machines out of wood - so I'm guessing carpenters operating carpentry machines. Carpentry machine operators, if you like. I am told the injury risk with these machines is high, possibly justifying an insurance class all its own.
