Explanation:
It seems like both terms are used widely. But in the IEC 60529 publication which define "the degrees of protection provided by enclosures" they use the term IP code. I'm just a Norwegian electrician, so I don't know what the guys on the floor in English speaking countries use to say. In Norway it's "IP-grad" that we all use.
