I think they all work. I would prefer not using ø, as we do not use Å, Æ, or accent grave from french etc.
I also see that Mid-Norway is an acceptable replacement.
Strangely, Vestland, Sørland, Østland, and Nord-Norge all have translations!
Also, if you google with "north trøndelag", you get a lot of authoritative sources - in fact more than you do with "north trondelag". Strictly speaking you're probably right about anglofying the spelling, but in practice it seems not to be the case....
