Norwegian term or phrase: guttete
"Det var veldig guttete". Svar i markedsundersøkelser on brusprodukter, design, logo osv. Kommentaren gjelder emballasjon til et brusprodukt. Her mener jeg at "boyish" ikke passer in - ordet har helt andre nysanser enn det jeg er ut etter i konteksten. "Macho" blir for sterkt her, mener jeg. Kanskje "maskulin" er det mest nøytrale løsning? Any ideas?

This is the word I also found best fitted the context - though some would probably argue that it isn't a REAL word... Thank you!

Explanation:
Hvis du mener guttete i motsetning til jentete, går det kanskje an å gjøre det så enkelt? Mannish er vel like galt som boyish...

just some of the suggestions in my thesaurus - I looked under Male and Masculine.

The other suggestions would never apply to a bottle...

boyish

Explanation:
I can't see anything wrong with "boyish". Males of all ages are often referred to as boys, particularly when stressing an ("immature") male sense of fun - e.g. "boys will be boys"; "one of the boys"; "the boy in him"; "just a big boy". I think all these other male terms have the wrong connotations.
