Raabjørn reflects the ocean fog Explanation: "draugen" is a supernatural being which augurs death at sea. "Draugheimen" - "home of the draug" - is therefore a metaphor for the ocean. An alternative translation is therefore: Raabhjørn reflects the fog that covers the home of the draug (or sea-monster). But this looks like poetry, and the first translation has the advantage of having the same number of stressed syllables as the original. Norwegian translator |
