Silent Night

The song Glade Jul is the Norwegian version of Silent Night. Literally, the words mean "happy Christmas," but if you want to wish someone Merry Christmas, you say "God jul."

merry christmas

It doesn't have an exact equivalent in this context, but as far as the song goes it is best described as "merry christmas", literally it should be "joyous" or "joyful" christmas, but that doesn't quite ring true in English.

Hope that helps
