|Norwegian term or phrase: herskapsbolig|
|Context - advert for a hotel described as " en gammel,rverdig herskapsbolig"|
I know herskapelig (also a TV program)means elegant, luxurious, and bolig is a residence.
Does this make herskapsbolig "luxury residence", or is it more subtle like "manor house" . Any answers welcomed - deadline tightish!!
is what you're looking for.
Definitely nor 'luxury residence'. It has no connotations akin to 'herrskapsbolig' which is used by solid, down to earth families.
